Why this is important?
Millions of children have been affected by the Russian invasion and full scale war against the Ukrainian people. Most of them were either displaced within Ukraine or are seeking shelter as refugees in other European countries. However, there are still many children trapped in cities and hiding in bomb shelters. One can only imagine how this catastrophic upheaval has emotionally and mentally impacted every aspect of these childrens’ lives.
How we plan to help them?
A book is something familiar and close to a child often providing excitement, comfort, adventure and countless other possibilities. Electronic books can quickly and easily reach a vast audience. By providing stories and illustrations for Ukrainian children, we aim to offer support and help the children to:
Understand and process new changes in their lives
Learn how to express and manage their emotions
Be hopeful and have faith in a better tomorrow
Gain knowledge on ways to support each other
How will it work?
We are seeking to embed core principles and strategies from pediatric psychology and therapy into stories and illustrations. By partnering with leading experts in these fields, we hope to provide creative guidelines and helpful techniques for authors and artists. We will work with those experts to review our stories and provide constant feedback until the ebook is published.

Consult
We will appreciate guidance in the following areas:
Pediatric Therapy, Psychology, Bibliotherapy
Legal (copywrite, publishing, agreements)

What about the logistics?
We have two main focuses:
Creation
Streamline the recruitment of capable volunteers
Form small, talented groups - each consisting of an author, illustrator, psychologist, editor and English/Ukrainian translator
Facilitate effective collaboration to create a great story
Distribution
Collaborate with various organizations inside Ukraine
Directly reach out to refugee centers across all of Europe through local volunteer organizations
Utilize social media and word of the mouth
